North Seattle College treats the health and safety of our students and employees with the utmost seriousness. The college is committed to ensuring a safe campus environment and to providing support to those in distress.

In order to provide the appropriate support in a timely manner, North has created the Campus Assessment, Response and Evaluation (CARE) Team.

The CARE team is an interdisciplinary team of trained professionals who meet regularly to monitor student behavior, develop appropriate intervention plans, and coordinate services for students who may pose a threat of self-harm or a threat to the community.

CARE does not replace standard classroom management techniques or calling 9-1-1 in the event of a true emergency.

How does CARE work?

Ensuring a safe campus takes us all. Be vigilant and report distressing behavior:

  1. If you feel specific student behavior has the potential for possible threat to self or others, you should fill out a Student of Concern Referral Form and email it to Jasmine Adamek.
  2. CARE members will review your report in a timely manner and determine an appropriate course of action.
  3. Confidentiality of reports and processes is maintained as needed.
